Before Lessova

Your teaching business lives in five places.

A calendar in one time zone, a spreadsheet of credits, a chat full of changes, bank lines to match and a note of who owes what. Lessova keeps them as one record, so the numbers always agree.

One package card holds the price, the payment, the lessons and every change, for you and for Kenji.

How it works

Four questions, answered before you ask.

Every tutor asks the same four things each week. Lessova keeps the answers on one desk, worked out from your own records, never guessed.

Your day in your time, the next lesson in both, and anything left to record.

  • Your time and theirs. Each lesson shows your time first and the student’s beside it, worked out from each person’s zone.

  • Nothing slips. Lessons that have ended wait under To record, oldest first, until you mark them.

  • Notes for you only. A preparation note sits on the lesson. It never reaches the student’s page.

Sample data: Sofia teaches Spanish from Madrid, and Kenji learns from New York.

Time zones

Two cities, one lesson, both clocks right.

Each lesson is saved once and shown to each person in their own time. When Europe changes its clocks a week before the US, Kenji’s page just says 13:00 that week. Nobody does the maths.

  • Both times before you confirm. “Thu 29 Oct, 18:00 Madrid · 13:00 New York” is spelled out on every booking.

  • A wrong laptop clock can’t move a lesson. Times are worked out on our side from each person’s chosen zone.

  • Late nights are flagged. If a start falls between 22:00 and 06:00 for your student, you see a small moon before you offer it.

The same 18:00 lesson on Thu 29 Oct:

  • Madrid18:00
  • New York13:00
  • London17:00
  • Accra17:00

Packages

Prepaid lessons, counted honestly.

Lessons are issued once, used once, and every change leaves a line in the history. When Kenji asks how many he has left, you both see the same answer.

  1. Agree a package

Pick one of your offers. The price and lesson length are copied in, so a later price change never rewrites what Kenji agreed to.

  2. Record the payment

Cash, bank transfer or card machine: you note what arrived. Lessova never handles the money, so it never takes a cut.

  3. Activate the lessons

Only now are the eight lessons issued. Want to let a student pay later? That is a choice you make on purpose, and it stays on the record.

Money and the student page

The same numbers, on both sides of the lesson.

You record what was paid and how. Each student gets a free, private page with their next lesson in their own time, the lessons they have left and what they have paid.

What you see

  • Each currency keeps its own total. Euros, dollars and pounds are never added together, so nothing rests on a guessed exchange rate.

  • Teaching is not paying. A completed lesson never counts as money received, and a payment never marks a lesson done.

What Kenji sees

If Kenji taps Looks wrong?, it lands on your follow-up list with his note. Nothing changes until you check it.

Details

Small things, done properly.

The parts you only notice when they go wrong: a second tap on bad Wi-Fi, a change nobody remembers making, a note you meant to keep to yourself.

Tap twice, book once.

On a weak signal it is natural to press again. The second tap is matched to the first, so you never get two lessons, two payments or two credits taken.

Every change has a reason.

Moves and cancellations keep who asked, why, and what happened to the credit.

Private notes stay private.

They never reach the student’s page or exports. Sharing a summary is its own step.

Your hours, your rules.

Weekly hours, holidays and a gap between lessons. Time outside them is never offered.

Made for the phone.

Every screen works at phone size, so a lesson can be recorded on the way home.

  • Export any time

Students, lessons, packages and money, in files any spreadsheet opens.

  • Private by default

Each record is seen only by you and that student. No public directory.

  • Plain files

CSV opens in any spreadsheet, with or without Lessova.

Your records stay yours.

Everything you enter can leave with you, whenever you like.

A note from the founder

To every independent tutor,

Most software for tutors is built for agencies, with parents, rosters and a sales team. Lessova is for one person teaching adults, one to one, often across a time zone or two.

It starts from a simple idea: the work around a lesson should not take longer than the lesson. What time is it for your student? How many lessons are left? Has that transfer arrived? Those answers belong in one place, and they should always agree.

So Lessova does a few things carefully: your day in your own time, lessons counted honestly, money recorded but never taken, and a private page for every student. Join the waitlist and I’ll write to you when it opens.
